What license must a supervisor hold?
Prior to July 9, 2000, supervisors must be licensed as a marriage and family therapist, professional counselor, clinical psychologist, clinical social worker or psychiatrist.
After July 9, 2000, all supervisors must:
- be licensed as a marriage and family therapist, OR
- be licensed as a professional counselor, clinical psychologist, clinical social worker or psychiatrist AND have met the MFT educational and supervised practicum experience requirements.
In all cases the supervisor's license should be current and in good standing.
